Vinik’s ‘$1 billion makeover for Tampa’ hits WSJ

Tampa Bay Lightning Owner Jeff Vinik's plans for a billion-dollar mixed-use district in downtown Tampa caught the attention of the Wall Street Journal.
Vinik appeared on WSJ News Hub Monday afternoon, touting the project and his two recent hires — urban planners David Dixon of Stantec and Jeff Speck, author of "Walkable City: How Downtown Can Save America, One Step at a Time." See video embedded below or click here.

The WSJ mention follows appearances on CNBC and Fox Business. Lightning spokesman Bill Wickett has said that Vinik has "been looking for opportunities nationally" to pitch the story of downtown Tampa and his development.
